Before returning to life as full-time copywriter, I spent much of the past decade working as a music journalist, house concert host, and singer/songwriter, performing at much-missed venues like The Sweetwater and The Owl & Monkey Cafe. In 1995, I released a solo record called The Scattering Blue, which included guest performances by Jim Brunberg and Jeff Pehrson of Box Set, James Lee Harris Jr and Lilly Gobeil of Patchwork and Will Johnson. In 2002, I released Heat Change Vapor + Snow with my former band, Darrington, an acoustic quartet that included cellist Laura Loescher, guitarist/technology journalist Paul Boutin and percussionist/poet Sage Cohen.
